Writing & Directing

In 2019 Dominic wrote and directed The Choicest Music of The Kindom: which launched the first ever Shake It Up Festival in Shoreditch, celebrating Shakespeare’s legacy in East London and the discovery of James Burbage’s Theatre of 1576. This site-specific performance starred Harry Christophers and The Sixteen, performing choral pieces that spanned the life of the Burbage family, sung above the crypt where they were buried.

In 2016, Dominic wrote and directed Malvolio’s Misorder at the V&A: a site-specific performance featuring characters from Twelfth Night. This was followed later that year by Victoria & Albert’s Christmas Carol: also an immersive piece that followed an aged Queen Victoria, who was suddenly transported back to the Christmas of 1843, and visited by Prince Albert and Sir Robert Peel.

Dominic also directed the premiere of Alexis Bennett’s opera The Electrictionary for the Tête-à-Tête festival at King’s Place.

As a director and teacher Dominic has coached students at: Shakespeare’s Globe; The Royal Central School of Speech & Drama; East-15 and Fourth Monkey. He is also a regular director at Drama Studio London.

Internationally he has also taught in the US at Wellesley College, University of Notre Dame and University of Texas; The Cultura Inglesa in Brazil and the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Switzerland.
